Yoga works miracles for expecting mothers but not all positions are healthful and advisable for expectant mothers. Here are some poses that can be good for expecting moms:

Pregnancy Sit up – You have to lie on your back with feet flat on the floor close to your buttocks. Behind your neck, clasp your hands. Breath in, raise your head and shoulders, twist to the left. Slowly breath out as you go down. After that twist to the other side. You should keep your muscles strong in the abdominal part but with out strain. By performing this routine it helps your muscles hold the baby in right position.

Modified Child’s Pose – You have to sit on the floor. Bend your knees wide-apart. When you bend forward join your hands together and put them on the floor. Rest your chin on them. Make sure you stay in a comfortable position while bending forward.

Modified Forward Bend – While sitting on the floor do your customized forward-bend. You must spread your thighs and leg a part to help you accommodate stomach movement. Try to hold your toes while bending forward. Keep your knees straight. This will help open your pelvic area.

Modified Cobra Pose – This pose is little bit hard but it can be performed correctly. It’s performed in a standing position. When your feet are separated or together to relax a bit, clasp your hands at your back. Slowly inhale then drop your head back. Hold your position and then gently breathe. Breathe in when you will arch your back to push your arms and chest backwards. Push your hips forward. Make sure you avoid abdominal pressure so as not to hurt the baby.

Modified Cat Pose – Another intermediate level position is the modified cat pose. You have to be down on all fours. Inhale then lift your leg straight up. Raise your head while doing this. Hold this position and breath. Breath out and then lower your leg. It is important not to strain yourself by keeping your lower back limber and strengthen your legs. Do this with your other leg. Repeat the routine for about two to three times.

While you are pregnant, these poses are helpful for you. Make use of them to maximize your yoga exercise.
