When you have outstanding mind and brain skills and IQ confidence usually follows. Employers hire and promote often the person who masters these characteristics better then a very competitive workforce today.</p><p>A great way to keep your brain in shape is mind puzzles and brainteasers. These fun mind games are found everywhere. They are in magazines and store check out counters, they are even in newspapers across the country. They not only give you a break from a stressful day, they actually stimulate your mind.</p><p>Playing a mind game such as a cryptogram, you are increasing your reasoning skills. When you figure out which letter should be replaced with another, you are strengthening a skill that you need in everyday life.</p><p>Another skill that is developed by playing mind puzzles is your powers of deduction. When you play a puzzle that is filled with bizarre twists, using the process of elimination will no doubt assist you in solving the puzzle.</p><p>When you use mind puzzles and brainteasers, you also increasing your ability to use powers of logic to solve an otherwise impossible puzzle. These games may seem like a pleasant diversion in an otherwise chaotic life, but in reality, they actually keep your mind stimulated into drawing a legitimate conclusion.</p><p>You can gain mental stability when you play mind puzzles for a certain amount of time each day. With a crossword puzzle, you are not only learning a new word, you are learning the definition and how to use it in a sentence.</p><p>Once you are experienced at playing mind puzzles and brainteasers, you can step it up a bit to make it more exciting. If you start timing your games, you can add a whole new level of excitement and test your limits even further.</p><p>When you play mind puzzles, you are increasing your ability to think fast. When you complete a mind puzzle a day, you will notice you have gained a sense of security and you will also see the difference in your problem solving skills in a relatively short amount of time.</p><p>Mind puzzles provide you with the tools to improve your skills in specific areas. Problem solving is the number one skill that many people do not use to its fullest potential. For example, think of the two Mr. Smiths as twin brothers.<br /><br />2. When you first learn a new name, write it down several times. This reinforces the name through multiple sensory channels. By hearing the name, seeing it in writing, and invoking physical memory through the process of writing, you're less likely to forget the name.<br /><br />3. Make note of the person's interesting or distinctive facial features. What makes your new acquaintance distinct from other people? Take note of features like eyes, ears, nose, lips, hair, or facial structure. By pondering a person's facial features, you focus on a person's face right away and create a much stronger mental impression. You also create a sense of interest, which is very important for memory retention. Say, for example, you were introduced to someone who promised to pay you $1,000 cash at your next meeting. Chances are you'd automatically study his face and have no trouble conjuring his image or his name. Interest is important.<br /><br />4. When you hear someone's name being said out loud, deliberately look at the person to whom the name belongs. This reinforces the connection in your mind between the person's name and face. If you forget the name, try to recall the face and you'll have a better chance of remembering it.<br /><br />5. Pay close attention to your surroundings and your feelings at the time that you meet someone new.         <![CDATA[What are "neurobics"? Actually, this is a term you may not be
familiar with, but it's similar to aerobics. Aerobics are exercises
your body takes part in, and they keep you healthy and fit. By the same
token, neurobics are exercises that your brain needs to stay fit, too.
And if you do this day after day, you're going to create some fun and
some, well, disorganization in your world.<br>
<br>
Neurobics are fascinating because you can use all of your senses to
exercise your brain. It also allows you to explore your emotions and to
see how everything works together. When you do this type of activity,
your brain gets stronger. And in fact, you'll actually grow new brain
cells, which is important for overall mental health.<br>
<br>
Some fun examples of neurobics include getting dressed, eating, or
doing other familiar activities with your eyes closed. When you do
this, you rely on other senses besides the ones you normally use to get
these things done. Or, engage in a conversation where you can't
actually talk. Instead, you have to use body language to express
yourself.<br>
<br>
Another thing you can do with neurobics is to explore two things at
once. This isn't really the multitasking we're more familiar with, and
instead is something that you do to enhance creativity. For example,
you can draw and listen to music on the radio at the same time.<br>
<br>
You have a lot of routine things you do that you probably don't even
notice. In fact, these habits are simply a part of our brain patterns,
and we do them without even thinking about them. With this type of
neurobics, you're going to change your normal routines so that you
exercise your brain. For example, if you normally clean your kitchen
first, do it last the next time you clean. The next time you start your
day, do it differently than you "always" start it. In other words,
shake things up, and do things little bit differently.<br>
<br>
Another example is that you can use your non-dominant hand for an
entire day to do activities you'd normally use your dominant hand for.
It's going to be very hard, and it's going to take a lot of
concentration on your part. However, you'll probably discover that
you're going to get better as the day goes on. It will change the way
your brain has to think when it comes to accomplishing a task that has
become so mindless for you.<br>

There are lots of different ways to experiment with neurobics. Have fun
and try different things, and do everything you can to learn from it.
With most of these tasks, you can do them at home, you can do them at
work or when you travel. What's important about this is that you
identify those things you always do a certain way. When you do this,
make a conscious decision to do it differently. You can also keep notes
(which can be fun) to document what you've discovered as well as what
comes out of your neurobic activities.<br>

It can be very fun to take part in neurobics, because they will develop
your mind. In fact, neurobic activities can help you discover what you
-- and your brain -- can accomplish every day. And, it helps you see
that your brain in fact controls a lot of what you do. All too often,
we may just go along with it and not question it, but this needs to be
something we put behind us. Explore neurobics, though, and you'll see
that you have the ability to change things around you and always keep
learning fresh and new -- and keep your brain challenged -- a new and
exciting ways.<br>

Of course blood is made up of mostly water, so its easy to see the role of water in optimizing brain functioning here, drinking water is essential for optimal concentration and mental alertness. <br /><br />The brain needs a constant supply. So do not reach the point where your mouth is dry and your desperately needing water. At that point, you are already dehydrated. Keep a steady supply of water throughout the day, keep sipping it as you work or exercise or even watching television. Long term, brainwave patterns have been entrained to match electrical frequencies associated with advanced brain functioning. By listening to computer generated tones that are emitted at specific frequencies, your brain's electrical impulses will match these generated electrical impulses. We can thank how we were created for our brain's ability to in a sense learn without having to learn. <br /><br />Brainwave entrainment can actually be a shortcut to success as brain wave patterns can be developed quickly instead of the method of many super successful in the past often requiring decades of training to form their neural pathways. The practice of entrainment relies on our brain's ability to adapt to the preferred frequencies simply by listening to the corrected patterns in certain deep states of mind.<br /><br />Meditation is a natural method that has been scientifically proven in some cases to effect the brain physically. First, meditation allows better breathing and with it the benefits of oxygen and improved blood flow as previously written here. In general, when we think about learning, we tend to associate it with students and for the most part, students are kids so this brings us to the question of how can adults benefit from accelerated learning?

First of all, kids learn fast because of their youth. After all, their brains are still young.

To a certain extent we can compare this scenario to computers. A new computer with plenty of memory is able to hold more fresh data than an old computer as the old computer’s memory is already full. When we try to add too much new data, the system simply crashes or freezes.

Of course, this is much the same where we as humans are concerned which is why the learning process slows down in adults and even more so as we get older.

Irrespective of this natural hindrance, adults can still learn just as many new things as kids can just as we can overcome the same amount of problems if not more. However, unlike kids, we will require a lot more willpower and determination in order to cover the same ground.

Keep repeating each step until you can completely and  accurately remember every single piece of information given to you. <br /><br />These are a few relatively quick and easy suggestions  that will help you stimulate your mind and increase your memory. It is okay if  you don't succeed the first few times. Just use these tips regularly whenever  you need help to memorize important information. <br /><br />Then, keep an eye on yourself. After a few attempts,  you will see that you are now taking less time to remember the information given  to you. You can find this brand at Mercola.com or at any health store near your house.<br /> <br /> Vegetables <br /> <br /> Nothing can ever match the nutritions that pure vegetables can provide us. Alzheimer's has been known to occur because of deficiency of folic acid (green vegetables are very rich with it). Similarly, there are many other elements, antioxidants and phytochemicals that vegetables provide us with and can help us in keeping our brains sharp.<br /> <br /> The easiest way to eat enough of vegetables is to prepare vegetable juice on a regular basis.<br /> <br /> But the&nbsp; type of your metabolism is a key factor to decide what all you need to consume. For example, if you are a protein metabolic type, you need not eat vegetables. You can have half of what is usually recommended. That is for a protein type adult, one can eat half a pound of vegetable and this will be sufficient.<br /> <br /> If you are a protein type of guy your diet should consist of low potassium vegetables like beans. Lettuces and the usual diet like collard greens have high potassium content and may cause biochemical imbalance. Also, if you have a metabolic type you also don't need much vegetable juice consumption. A carbohydrate metabolic type wil beneft if he consumes more vegetables like collard greens, kale, Swiss chard etc. These are very&nbsp; much not suggested for the protein types.<br /> <br /> I do recommend organic food if you want to get the most nutritious input, but if you cannot afford to buy them, don't give up eating vegetables altogether. Eating vegetables in any form, organic or not is good and better not have them in your ration at all.<br /> <br /> Raw Eggs<br /> <br /> The best source for high quality nutrition is raw whole egg. It is also very much affordable by all. It is especially for those who are protein deficient. You may face some difficulty initially to eat them, but you will greatly improve your health, if you eat raw egg. This helps you live a more productive life. You also need to learn how to manage your stress levels too, because stress can upset the brain's ability to think straight.<br /><br />The older you get usually the wiser you become. The opportunities and challenges on top of decision making helped to improve your brain. Always be prepared for the different challenges life throws at you and have a positive attitude.<br /><br />The brain functions through more information being put into it, and it also ties the different parts of your body together so that is functions correctly. No one is ever too old to be able to learn new things.<br /><br />As you age you need to stay connected with your friends and family. The more contact you have with your friends and family the sharper your mind works. You learn from the people that surround you and this will assist you is staying sharp mentally.<br /><br />As you get older watch your diet to maintain brain health. Consume numerous green leafy vegetables and all sorts of fruit. Vegetables supply your brain with many important nutrients, which enables it to perform properly. This is not hard to believe since vegetable can ward off cancer.<br /><br />Vegetables and fruits are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals on top of being low with the calories and fat. Antioxidants benefit you in many ways including lowering the amount of damaged or dieing cells in your body. Blueberries are known to help with certain memory functions.<br /><br />Only a small number of doctors don't want you taking herb or vitamin supplements. As you age your diet often changes by you eating less quantity of food and you have to make sure that nothing interferes with your medications. Check with your doctor to make certain you are taking the right vitamins, this way you will know that you are supplementing your diet the right way.<br /><br />Stress Reducers:<br />Stress often times can control your life, harming your body as well as your brain. You cannot remove all stress from your life, but you can eliminate as much of it as possible. Then you need to decide how to deal with the rest of the stress, by having as much pleasantries in your life as you can too. It is vital that you keep stress from taking a death grip on your life. Too much stress can lead to depression easier the older you get.<br /><br />Your brain produces hormones to help you deal with some of the stress, but when too many of the hormones are produced damage can result to your nerve cells. When the hormones then are produced too fast and in too high a quantity depression can happen.<br /><br />Relieve your stress that is causing you problems, because stress is hard on anyone to endure. You need to get the things off your mind that you can't control, and just concentrate on what you can control. Do an activity you enjoy so that you can relax your mind and forget about what is stressing you. That's why it's so hard to diagnose the condition and then to find the right treatment for it. With treatment, the goal is to help those who suffer from mental illness have the highest quality of life possible. </p><p>There's no known cure for most types of mental illness, but most can be treated, which is the next best thing to cure. In some cases, brain exercises may help reduce the effects of some types of mental illness, such as Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's occurs when people (mostly elderly, but not always) begin to have difficulty remembering things. Its onset and progression is usually slow, but ultimately, it makes someone's quality of life very poor. Eventually, those who suffer from Alzheimer's need constant care so as to avoid injuring themselves and sometimes others.There has been some research to show that utilizing brain exercises may indeed help slow the progression of diseases like Alzheimer's, if not negate them altogether. </p><p>Therefore, it's up to you to keep your mental faculties sharp, especially as you get older. As you get older, your cognitive abilities may indeed decline somewhat, but it doesn't really have to be this way for most people. Rather, you can absolutely continue to improve cognitively as you age. Many people don't realize that they can and should do &quot;brain exercises&quot; to keep their minds sharp. </p><p>In fact, it's common to simply &quot;let things happen&quot; any way they do, but this isn't always the best way to stay on top of things. Can you really expect your mind to stay sharp and your brain to function as it should if you don't &quot;exercise&quot; it just as you do your muscles? To that end, have defined goals as to what you want to accomplish with your brain exercises, just as you do those for your body. </p><p>In fact, &quot;brain exercises&quot; have become common preventative treatments to reduce mental illness's risks, and to help people stay mentally fit. And lest you think you're too old to start now even if you have never done so, think again. It's never too late to work on keeping your mind sharp well into your old age. That's good news, because too often, people assume that what has always been done is what needs to continue. Sometimes, though, change has to happen. Even though this can be difficult, you can do it if you have a game plan, so to speak, and dedication to focus on your mental faculties and on &quot;exercising&quot; them. </p><p>It is true that it's never too late to start exercising your mind even if you haven't already, but that said, the earlier you start, the better. If you're younger when you start mentally exercising, you can even further reduce the risk of mental illness or other mental deterioration versus someone who is older when they start. </p><p>There's a lot of research that has to be done yet for this area, but it still can't hurt to start now if you haven't. The more you engage in mental excess, the better things will be for you. If you put the effort into staying cognitively sharp, you'll live a life that's healthier and happier over the long haul. Spend some time working on this area in your life, and you'll find that your hard work will pay off in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. Even several decades from now, you can be productive and confident that you are an engaged member of society. Indeed, you give yourself personal power if you engage in the type of brain exercising you need to stay sharp, so don't sell yourself short or underestimate what this can do for you. </p><p>You'll also be able to balance mental and physical health if you engage in brain exercise. This is because both physical and mental fitness are important components of looking and feeling your best. If you're not paying attention to one or the other (or both) as you should be, you're going to suffer.
