Change Your Eating Habits And Super Boost Your Intelligence Quotient

Do you feel heavy in your head when you walk around? Is your score in IQ tests too low? You may not feel as active or quick as early or you may be forgetting very commonly used words. This need not be the situation that cannot be dealt with. You can eat certain food items which will help boost your brainpower, clear up your brain and make you think at a quick pace.

Hence if you want to increase your intelligence level (and your IQ- your score in IQ tests) to the highest level read the information given below. It will help you clear up your brain and you will have great thinking power and ability to score higher in IQ tests. Your memory also depends on your eating habits.

Fish Oil

“Fish is a food for your brain” is an old belief. But nowadays fish is very polluted with mercuy and dangerous substances, so I will not recommend fish for consumption. Instead, I suggest to eat fish oil. It has fats which contain DocasaHexanenoic Acid and is beneficial for the brain and acts as a protective layer.

A majority of our brain is made up of fat and that fat is either DocasaHexanenoic Acid or Arachidonic acid. Arachidonic acid is found in unprocessed dairy products like  butter and DocasaHexanenoic Acid is found only in fish and not in any other plant or vegetation.

It is very important to use a fish oil which is exceptionally good and has good reputation. I have done research and have clinical with patients, which shows the following trends.

1.    Liquid form of fish oil is far better than capsules.
2.    Not all brands are good
3.    Carlson’s brand is the best and purest of all existing brands today.

It may not be the only brand that is exceptionally good, but till now I have come across many and have found that carlson’s brand is the best as far as fish or cod liver oil is concerned. You can find this brand at Mercola.com or at any health store near your house.

Vegetables

Nothing can ever match the nutritions that pure vegetables can provide us. Alzheimer’s has been known to occur because of deficiency of folic acid (green vegetables are very rich with it). Similarly, there are many other elements, antioxidants and phytochemicals that vegetables provide us with and can help us in keeping our brains sharp.

The easiest way to eat enough of vegetables is to prepare vegetable juice on a regular basis.

But the  type of your metabolism is a key factor to decide what all you need to consume. For example, if you are a protein metabolic type, you need not eat vegetables. You can have half of what is usually recommended. That is for a protein type adult, one can eat half a pound of vegetable and this will be sufficient.

If you are a protein type of guy your diet should consist of low potassium vegetables like beans. Lettuces and the usual diet like collard greens have high potassium content and may cause biochemical imbalance. Also, if you have a metabolic type you also don’t need much vegetable juice consumption. A carbohydrate metabolic type wil beneft if he consumes more vegetables like collard greens, kale, Swiss chard etc. These are very  much not suggested for the protein types.

I do recommend organic food if you want to get the most nutritious input, but if you cannot afford to buy them, don’t give up eating vegetables altogether. Eating vegetables in any form, organic or not is good and better not have them in your ration at all.

Raw Eggs

The best source for high quality nutrition is raw whole egg. It is also very much affordable by all. It is especially for those who are protein deficient. You may face some difficulty initially to eat them, but you will greatly improve your health, if you eat raw egg. Boiled or cooked eggs will not result in the same, so the lesser you cook the egg the more nutrition you will consume.

5 Study Steps to Improve Your Brain Memory

Filed under: Improve Memory, Study Tips

There is good news; you can improve your memory. This is especially true if you are younger in age. The suggestions below are very good ideas and they can actually help you to strengthen your memory.

1. First, comprehend the information. This is your first look at the information given to you. Remain focused. Let your mind completely process the information. Open your mind and allow it to absorb all the facts and figures that it possible can.

2. Try to take the information and relate it to something that you are familiar with already. The ability to use this association technique is very helpful. Try to interconnect things that you can deeply relate to with the information that you need to remember. It does not have to be things that are even relevant to each other. You are just simply trying to give your brain the ability to recall information when you think of that “trigger”.

3. Repeat the information in your mind. Now, it is time to begin using your memory. After taking in the information and relating each separate item to something, start trying to recall each of them in the correct order in your mind. Keep doing this until you get all the information correctly in the right order.

4. Take a break for a few minutes and attempt to recall the information again. Then clear your mind for three or four minutes and try recalling it one more time. Even if you are able to do this accurately keep doing this drill at least three more times. Give yourself another few minutes, and then try recalling again. If you are still able to recite the information after the third time, you can be assured that the information is now stored in your brain’s long-term memory.

5. Repeat these steps over until you can remember the information on your own. If you are unsuccessful at recalling all the information given to you after the few minute break, go back and repeat step one. Keep repeating each step until you can completely and accurately remember every single piece of information given to you.

These are a few relatively quick and easy suggestions that will help you stimulate your mind and increase your memory. It is okay if you don’t succeed the first few times. Just use these tips regularly whenever you need help to memorize important information.

I have evaluated this program below and find it superbly effective. It may be for you. They have a very detailed information page, just follow the link below

Prevent Mental Illness Based On Help Of Exercise and Playing Games For Your Brain

There are a lot of different types of mental illness, and each type affects those who suffer from it differently. That’s why it’s so hard to diagnose the condition and then to find the right treatment for it. With treatment, the goal is to help those who suffer from mental illness have the highest quality of life possible.

There’s no known cure for most types of mental illness, but most can be treated, which is the next best thing to cure. In some cases, brain exercises may help reduce the effects of some types of mental illness, such as Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s occurs when people (mostly elderly, but not always) begin to have difficulty remembering things. Its onset and progression is usually slow, but ultimately, it makes someone’s quality of life very poor. Eventually, those who suffer from Alzheimer’s need constant care so as to avoid injuring themselves and sometimes others. There has been some research to show that utilizing brain exercises may indeed help slow the progression of diseases like Alzheimer’s, if not negate them altogether.

Therefore, it’s up to you to keep your mental faculties sharp, especially as you get older. As you get older, your cognitive abilities may indeed decline somewhat, but it doesn’t really have to be this way for most people. Rather, you can absolutely continue to improve cognitively as you age. Many people don’t realize that they can and should do “brain exercises” to keep their minds sharp.

In fact, it’s common to simply “let things happen” any way they do, but this isn’t always the best way to stay on top of things. Can you really expect your mind to stay sharp and your brain to function as it should if you don’t “exercise” it just as you do your muscles? To that end, have defined goals as to what you want to accomplish with your brain exercises, just as you do those for your body.

In fact, “brain exercises” have become common preventative treatments to reduce mental illness’s risks, and to help people stay mentally fit. And lest you think you’re too old to start now even if you have never done so, think again. It’s never too late to work on keeping your mind sharp well into your old age. That’s good news, because too often, people assume that what has always been done is what needs to continue. Sometimes, though, change has to happen. Even though this can be difficult, you can do it if you have a game plan, so to speak, and dedication to focus on your mental faculties and on “exercising” them.

It is true that it’s never too late to start exercising your mind even if you haven’t already, but that said, the earlier you start, the better. If you’re younger when you start mentally exercising, you can even further reduce the risk of mental illness or other mental deterioration versus someone who is older when they start.

There’s a lot of research that has to be done yet for this area, but it still can’t hurt to start now if you haven’t. The more you engage in mental excess, the better things will be for you. If you put the effort into staying cognitively sharp, you’ll live a life that’s healthier and happier over the long haul. Spend some time working on this area in your life, and you’ll find that your hard work will pay off in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. Even several decades from now, you can be productive and confident that you are an engaged member of society. Indeed, you give yourself personal power if you engage in the type of brain exercising you need to stay sharp, so don’t sell yourself short or underestimate what this can do for you.

You’ll also be able to balance mental and physical health if you engage in brain exercise. This is because both physical and mental fitness are important components of looking and feeling your best. If you’re not paying attention to one or the other (or both) as you should be, you’re going to suffer. Therefore, make sure that you actually exercise your brain just as you do your body; it’s as important to exercise mentally as it is to do so physically.

Again, brain exercises do offer many benefits to you, so that’s a very good reason for you to participate in them. If you participate in these types of activities, you can reduce the chances that you’ll suffer from mental deterioration, as you get older. These benefits do exist, although research is still outstanding as to what they are, exactly. Nonetheless, take the time to give yourself the opportunity to take benefit from these tools

Benefits of Accelerated Learning – Not Only For Kids

To better understand what is meant by accelerated learning, we need to first understand that the term learning refers to the process of acquiring knowledge by means of studying. Accelerated learning therefore means that the rate at which we acquire such knowledge is increased. In general, when we think about learning, we tend to associate it with students and for the most part, students are kids so this brings us to the question of how can adults benefit from accelerated learning? First of all, kids learn fast because of their youth. After all, their brains are still young. To a certain extent we can compare this scenario to computers. A new computer with plenty of memory is able to hold more fresh data than an old computer as the old computer’s memory is already full. When we try to add too much new data, the system simply crashes or freezes. Of course, this is much the same where we as humans are concerned which is why the learning process slows down in adults and even more so as we get older. Irrespective of this natural hindrance, adults can still learn just as many new things as kids can just as we can overcome the same amount of problems if not more. However, unlike kids, we will require a lot more willpower and determination in order to cover the same ground. Learning is a process which continues throughout our lives, irrespective of what our age is. In fact, it is a vital both for psychological and for emotional reasons. Undeniably, the process of learning is a skill which can be honed to a great degree and perhaps the single largest influencing factor, is our individual curiosity. The more interested we are in a specific subject, the easier it becomes for us to comprehend what we learn in relation to that subject. Ways of Improving Adult Learning If for any reason you would like to accelerate your learning, whether it’s because you feel your memory is no longer the same as it used to be, or whether you’re simply curious, please be rest assured that can hone your memory to be just as sharp as it was back when you were still a kid. o better understand what is meant by accelerated learning, we need to first understand that the term learning refers to the process of acquiring knowledge by means of studying. Considering just how many effective learning systems there are available on the market with the ability to nourish your brain, it’s understandable that so many people want to continue learning, irrespective of how old they may be.

Perhaps one of the most successful recipes is the one that places emphasis on the three basic steps; conditioning oneself, motivating oneself and thirdly, convincing yourself that you’re capable.

One of the proven means of retaining the knowledge you acquire, is to share it with others.

Remember you can do it if you put your mind to it so commit yourself and do your best to remain positive.

The older we are when we decide to continue studying, the more important it becomes that you take your time as this allows you to continue having the desire to further your new found knowledge.

Remember, being older means you’re going to have to put in that extra bit of effort so be sure to ask questions concerning anything at all which does not seem to make sense. Keep your facts straight and well placed and pay particular attention towards figures.

Reading is one of the single most valuable learning tools so read as much as you can about the topic you’re studying. Furthermore, just as it helps to tell others all you have learned, so it also helps for you to be almost fanatical in writing everything down.

There is no greater feeling that achieving one’s goals so persevere and believe in yourself completely because no matter what your previous opinion may have been, you’re never too old to learn.

Remember, you’ve got something to prove to yourself as well as to others and if you put your mind to it, you’re bound to impress even yourself.

Above all else, you need to remind yourself that your success does not rely on one thing only but rather on a combination of qualities such as determination, dedication, inspiration and responsibility, to name just a few.

Travel for Building Thinking Skills

May 31 by Leon Edward · Leave a Comment

If you go on vacation to a new location, though, you’re going to have to find where things are that you haven’t seen before. Using a map to find out where you need to go is a good idea. You can also stimulate your brain to help you choose the best route based upon the maps information. If you’re going to be in a country where you’re going to be traveling on the other side of the road, this is definitely going to be something new for your brain, too.

When you travel someplace new, you’re going to be taking in and processing a lot of information. You’re going to see new things every day, whereas with your normal life, you see things every day that you are used to seeing, so you may not even notice them. Let’s say, for example, that you live someplace where you have a beautiful mountain range within your line of sight. Chances are, although that caused you to gasp in amazement at first — and even if you love it very much — now you rarely even notice it, except when you remind yourself to do so. That means you “forget” about the amazing things in front of you until you hear someone else commenting on them.

Travel will open up new vistas to you that in fact are going to be “so-so” to the people who live there locally. Nonetheless, if you do this type of “new travel” on a regular basis, you’re building thinking skills and keeping your thinking process sharp. And in fact, that may be why people come back from a vacation with a new attitude and perspective, rejuvenated and refreshed, so that they can go back to their “normal” lives previously left behind.

Where you travel might matter, too, because you can offer your mind a challenge that it needs to solve. Let’s say, for example, that you want to find the lowest prices on airfare or you want to get discount prices for theme parks nearby. When you budget for a vacation, you can also sharpen your thinking because having to budget and crunch the numbers is something that requires mind power – and of course, you’re going to have to make sure you can afford it.

As you continue to travel more and more, your mind, too, will benefit from this travel. Let your mind explore things from an entirely new perspective. If you can, travel with a friend or family member, which can help you feel more at ease if you’re out of your natural element and uncomfortable doing so. It’s also helpful to have someone else interpreting maps or other tools along with you.

If you can’t have a vacation right now, you can still take notice of things in your area that you might not have previously noticed and try to imagine them from a new perspective. Even if you try to find a new route to work or just take a drive to “nowhere” for the weekend, you expand your thinking. It’ll also give you refreshment, so that you can face your workday and workweek from a new perspective.

5 Simple Tips To Turbo Boost Your Brain Power

May 31 by Leon Edward · 2 Comments

Finally, people are starting to understand!

Being intelligent matters. Despite the negative stigma given to intelligent people and so called nerds, society now understands that intelligence often counts more than muscle power, especially in this day and age.

Suddenly, being smart is cool. People want to develop brainpower these days. This means not just being smart in the sense of having a wealth of raw knowledge, but being smart where it counts, with practical application.

Here are five tips you can use to increase brainpower and boost your minds capacity to absorb and process information faster:

1) Choose supplements wisely
Yes, there are supplements that actually work. These may include memory-enhancement pills or medications that stave off mental fatigue for adults; there are also IQ enhancement milk supplements for children. A good number of these supplementary products on the market can actually give children a mental edge and help improve learning. Both children and adults need to follow a good, balanced diet and avoid vices that literally destroy brain cells such as smoking, drinking alcohol, and using illegal drugs. This will help keep your mind sharp over time.

2) Try speed-reading
This is a good way to bump up your learning curve. Speed-reading courses not only allow you to cover data faster, but they also train your mind to pick up visual details at a greater speed.

Another benefit you’ll gain by learning to speed read is that you train your brain to pick up the important details of the written text. Contrary to claims of some self-help courses, however, you cannot acquire a photographic memory if you don’t have one to begin with; however, speed-reading is the next best thing for those of who were not born with a photographic memory.

3) Test yourself often!
Brain attack!!!! IQ Quiz for you!
Here is a good memory enhancement drill. A study conducted by several colleges separated students into two groups. One group was given 5 minutes to study a text, and was then immediately given three 5-minute tests. Another group was given four 5-minute periods to study the same text, but was not immediately given a test afterwards.

A week later, they were all given a test on the same subject. The group that studied only once but took three tests outperformed the group that had studied the text four times but had taken no tests. The results are clear: don’t try to learn by just reading. Apply the knowledge you acquire and test yourself repeatedly.

4) Do drills on some basic math drill
Drilling basic math drills by using flashcards may seem like something that belongs in grade school, but even adults can benefit from it. Face it; most of us are spoiled by having calculators to do our addition and subtraction. At its core, math embodies the purest form of logic. Letting your basic math skills deteriorate is similar to letting your logical and deductive reasoning take a downslide.

5) Take Abstract Logic Tests
There are test books available in bookstores that give extensive tests on abstract logic. These tests present one with sets of 3 pictures; the test taker has to extrapolate from the first three pictures what the fourth logical concluding picture will be.

Buy a few of these books and try them out! Abstract logic may not be a direct help in concrete learning, but it actually improves your deductive reasoning capacity.

Brain Fitness Neurobics Keep Your Brain Challenged, Healthy And Young

What are “neurobics”? Actually, this is a term you may not be familiar with, but it’s similar to aerobics. Aerobics are exercises your body takes part in, and they keep you healthy and fit. By the same token, neurobics are exercises that your brain needs to stay fit, too. And if you do this day after day, you’re going to create some fun and some, well, disorganization in your world.

Neurobics are fascinating because you can use all of your senses to exercise your brain. It also allows you to explore your emotions and to see how everything works together. When you do this type of activity, your brain gets stronger. And in fact, you’ll actually grow new brain cells, which is important for overall mental health.

Some fun examples of neurobics include getting dressed, eating, or doing other familiar activities with your eyes closed. When you do this, you rely on other senses besides the ones you normally use to get these things done. Or, engage in a conversation where you can’t actually talk. Instead, you have to use body language to express yourself.

Another thing you can do with neurobics is to explore two things at once. This isn’t really the multitasking we’re more familiar with, and instead is something that you do to enhance creativity. For example, you can draw and listen to music on the radio at the same time.

You have a lot of routine things you do that you probably don’t even notice. In fact, these habits are simply a part of our brain patterns, and we do them without even thinking about them. With this type of neurobics, you’re going to change your normal routines so that you exercise your brain. For example, if you normally clean your kitchen first, do it last the next time you clean. The next time you start your day, do it differently than you “always” start it. In other words, shake things up, and do things little bit differently.

Another example is that you can use your non-dominant hand for an entire day to do activities you’d normally use your dominant hand for. It’s going to be very hard, and it’s going to take a lot of concentration on your part. However, you’ll probably discover that you’re going to get better as the day goes on. It will change the way your brain has to think when it comes to accomplishing a task that has become so mindless for you.

There are lots of different ways to experiment with neurobics. Have fun and try different things, and do everything you can to learn from it. With most of these tasks, you can do them at home, you can do them at work or when you travel. What’s important about this is that you identify those things you always do a certain way. When you do this, make a conscious decision to do it differently. You can also keep notes (which can be fun) to document what you’ve discovered as well as what comes out of your neurobic activities.

It can be very fun to take part in neurobics, because they will develop your mind. In fact, neurobic activities can help you discover what you — and your brain — can accomplish every day. And, it helps you see that your brain in fact controls a lot of what you do. All too often, we may just go along with it and not question it, but this needs to be something we put behind us. Explore neurobics, though, and you’ll see that you have the ability to change things around you and always keep learning fresh and new — and keep your brain challenged — a new and exciting ways.
